Seven days. Why seven? In Scripture, seven is the number of completion — and the Feast of Unleavened Bread doesn't let you stop halfway.

Day 1 was the departure. Day 7 is the finish line.

When Israel left Egypt, they didn't just walk out the door and call it done. Over seven days they journeyed, and on the seventh day — tradition and Scripture point to this moment — they stood at the edge of the Red Sea and watched God make a way where there was no way. It was the final, definitive act of deliverance. There was no going back to Egypt after that.

For us today, these seven days are a picture of sanctification — the complete removal of leaven (sin) from our lives, not just on the surface, but all the way through. Day 7 asks us: will you see it through to the end?
